ABOUT EVENT

Anuga is a major food fair held in Germany since 1919. The event alternates with SIAL PARIS. Anuga is the world’s largest food and beverage trade fair. With 2019 being the 100th anniversary, the focus was on current trends, innovations and visionary concepts. More than 7,500 exhibitors from all over the world presented their products and solutions to top-class trade visitors.On top of it all, the Anuga food fair celebrated its 100th anniversary!
The first Anuga food fair took place in Stuttgart in 1919. Based on the concept of an annual touring exhibition, further events of the “General Food and Beverage Exhibition” were held, among others in Munich in 1920, in Berlin in 1922 and in Cologne in 1924. With around 360 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors, the first Anuga food fair in Cologne was the most successful event since its launch in 1919, which is why the organizers opted for Cologne as the food fair’s permanent location. In the world of food and beverages, there’s no getting away from the Anuga. It is the world’s largest trade fair and the industry’s foremost meeting place. At the inaugural exhibition in 1919, visitors were already describing the event as overwhelming. This is the story of changing tastes, global food trends, innovative products and an inspiring trade fair.

 

The Venue
Koelnmesse GmbH (Cologne Trade Fair) is an international trade fair and exhibition center located in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The Cologne Trade Fair ground was founded in 1922. Until 2005, the trade fair was based in the historic Rheinhallen, and since then moved into new premises next to them. The venue has 400,000 Sq Mtr of space and is considered as No. 3 trade fair venue in Germany and into the Top Ten worldwide. It hosts about 80 trade fairs, exhibitions, guest events, and special events every year in Cologne
